Why this journey

Why this journey

The idea of the “Silk Road Project” is on our mind since we came back from our first “long trip” through South-East Asia (5 months in 2000).

We are both expatriates from our motherland; we believe that understanding and reaching to others is a key concern to build together a better, more tolerant society. This project is to talk and testify about the issues and challenges the youth faces today on the Silk Road and as well as share their dreams and achievements.

The Silk Road has been well travelled and has been at crossroads between civilisations, nations, trade. So much has been done and undone there and we truly want to share its reality today beyond the myths and fears.

Our concern is universal and will speak to all of us who want to bring their share to sustainable development and a brighter future for our generations. Our modest contribution will hopefully raise public awareness. By witnessing and testifying we are aiming to help the local youth to gain exposure and voice their hopes and needs.

Our goal is also to support research against a degenerative neurological disease called Richardson. Our modest fundraising will helpfully boost the research and help fight it. Any contribution will be welcome.
